Ms. Carter has been in the Education field for more than 15 years. While earning a degree from National Louis University with a dual major in Elementary Education with a specialization in Family Services; she worked for Chicago Public School systems teaching
1st- High School students with Exceptional Needs.
Ms. Carter has worked in the social service field for more than 8 years working with both elderly adults and adults with exceptional needs. Ms. Carter was an academic adviser, as well as an educational coordinator developing staff and curriculum for the inner-City youth. Aiding and helping to develop students with the tools needed on their educational career is her absolute privilege. As her role as an educational coordinator and Director she was able to create a curriculum that was used to enriched more the 100 students in the course of 1 year.
Ms. Watson’s career and educational background is firmly rooted in administrative and educational support services. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management and Policy from Indiana University – Bloomington and will be graduating in December with a Master’s in Urban Education and Policy. Working in these realms have allowed her to engage in in-depth examinations of the historical, political, economic, social, and cultural forces that impact the current trends and development of urban communities worldwide.
My name Is Shahilah Shuttlesworth, and I am the Art Instructor. I’ve had a lifelong love of the arts. As I continued to pursue my love of art education with MOMS Enrichment Center Inc. During my first year with M.E.C. I have focused on elementary school art programs facilitating countless two-dimensional art projects. My background and diverse experience have blended seamlessly with MOMS Enrichment Center Inc. Away from teaching I enjoys art projects that range from pillow making through my business, “ (Shai’s Creations), cooking to three dimensional art. Beyond artistic pursuits, I enjoys time with my family, and volunteering at my children’s school.
My name is Mariah White and I have a Masters Degree in Human Services. Specializing in Child & Family Studies.
My experience specifically qualifies me for those with limitations; (social, educational, mental, or physical) and those without.
As a director/teacher of education and social services, I am elated to work with M.E.C. My goal is to work intimately with our students to resolve issues effectively, set attainable goals, perform optimally, & communicate accordingly. I am available to work with each student/family to cultivate good mental health and decision making. Being a youth that persevered adversity, working with the youth is my passion. I have been actively mentoring for 12 years under the entity of instructing the youth in teaching, tutoring, educator, counseling, and accessing resources. Under my leadership, my mentees have overcome various traumas and adversity.

I have 8 years teaching and summer programming experience. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, and my Master’s Degree in Teaching at Chicago State University. I hold a professional educator’s license in K-9 education. Outside of teaching I enjoy spending time with family and traveling! I look forward to helping your child foster healthy relationships, and build on their creativity this summer!
